SAP Business ByDesign
New updates every three months!

SAP Business ByDesign is a cloud platform and as a cloud platform, SAP Business ByDesign has the advantage that updates can be pushed from SAP to customers who use this solution. This happens every quarter. SAP ByD logo.pngOur colleagues Stef van Lieshout and Sander Lange, are happy to update you on a number of updates from the 2208 release.

Service order distribution board

As of Release Update 2208, the distribution board is now available for service orders. It is possible here to see at a glance how the occupation of the service team is. This makes it easy and clear to show which employees are overstaffed, fully scheduled or free for new service orders. If an employee is busy, it is quite easy to change this to another employee in a few steps or to split the hours over several employees and/or days. This improvement allows for better monitoring of the service pipeline.

In addition, it is now possible to use the 'Resources Search' workplace to find employees based on an employee's maintained knowledge and availability data. This allows a planner to quickly and easily find the right specialist for an order. With this improvement, the planned project tasks and service orders assigned to employees will be visible in the resource calendar.

Stef vam Lieshout.pngHorizon Theme

Along with the functional updates, SAP has also released a new theme called 'Horizon'. Horizon represents an important step in developing the look and feel of SAP products and SAP's new approach to the User Experience for their products. The Horizon theme has a more modern and sleek look that matches the look of SAP Business One and Fiori for SAP S/4HANA. Following are the main changes from the previous look:

1.      Revision of the design
The most striking thing about the Horizon theme is the new User Interface that comes with the theme. Lighter colors and rounded shapes are used to create a modern look along the lines of SAP Business One and Fiori for SAP S/4 HANA.
New bold fonts have been added to more clearly distinguish essential information from other information.
This visual revision is in line with SAP's ambitions to provide a better User Experience for the end users.

2.      Enterprise Search customization
The 'Enterprise Search' feature has been moved to the center of the screen making it more noticeable. This ensures that users can find and use the 'Enterprise Search' more easily. The selection list is immediately available so that users can immediately search in the desired workplace.

3.      New tabs
SAP has refreshed the tabs in SAP Business ByDesign. These appear at the top of the screen instead of at the bottom of the screen. This makes the tabs more similar to those of browsers that users are used to these days. They are more eye-catching, reduce unnecessary data and keep the screen uncluttered.
